Introducing the FEMTO DME Unlock service from Finland, essential for BMW and Toyota GR Supra vehicles produced after June 2020. These models require a FEMTO unlock before any flash-based tuning can be performed, as they cannot be bench unlocked in-house.

Why Do You Need a FEMTO DME Unlock?

• Updated Bootloader Restrictions: Starting in June 2020, BMW DMEs were shipped with an updated bootloader that blocked OBD flash tuning using existing protocols.
• Exclusive Solution: FEMTO offers the only current solution to unlock these DMEs, allowing you to fully utilize OBD flash tuning capabilities.

Unlock Process (Mail-In)

1. Purchase the FEMTO DME Unlock: Buy the service from our store, which includes return freight from MTech Performance.
2. Prepare Your Vehicle: For BM3 users, create an account and activate your vehicle before DME removal.
3. Remove and Ship Your DME: Send your DME to our Fort Lauderdale facility for preparation and dispatch.
4. Wait for Unlocking: Your DME will be shipped to Finland, unlocked, and returned within 7-15 business days.
5. Re-Installation: Upon return, your DME will be tested, inspected, and sent back to you. Reinstall it in your vehicle and ensure everything functions correctly.
6. Flash Your Vehicle: Use your preferred tuning platform to flash your vehicle. (bm3)

Note: South Florida customers can opt for us to go to your location and remove the DME from your vehicle for an additional fee. Contact us for details.

Important Considerations

• **OTA Updates**: Disable 'Over The Air' (OTA) updates in iDrive to prevent accidental tune removal, which would require a repeat FEMTO DME Unlock.
• Tuning Licenses: BM3 licenses sold separately.
• BM3 Users: Ensure your BM3 license and VIN are activated before sending your DME to avoid issues with CustomROM loading.
• Remote Start: If your vehicle has Remote Start activated, select the 'Remote Start' option to retain it post-unlock. This option will not activate Remote Start on vehicles that do not already have it.
• Shipping and Handling: Your DME will be shipped via DHL Express to FEMTO, with a typical turnaround of 7-15 business days. However, delays outside our control may occur (Customs).
